Ski Jumping: suspension of Norwegian athletes is lifted for the offseason

Apr 01, 2025 – Following the conclusion of the 2024/25 season of the Viessmann FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, last weekend in Planica (SLO), FIS has decided to lift the provisional suspensions of five Norwegian athletes who are under investigation by the FIS Ethics and Compliance Office for their suspected involvement in the tampering of their ski jumping suits at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships Trondheim 2025.

The athletes’ provisional suspension was necessary to safeguard competition integrity. This requirement no longer applies after the end of the competition season 2024/2025.  Marius Lindvik, Johann Andre Forfang, Robin Pedersen, Kristoffer Sundal, and Robert Johansson will therefore be allowed to engage in training sessions or any other activities organized by the Norwegian Ski Association or other National Ski Associations with immediate effect. The provisional suspension of three officials from Norway’s Men’s Ski Jumping team remains in place.

The investigation by the FIS Ethics and Compliance Office is still ongoing. As planned, the jumping suits that were seized by FIS in Oslo (NOR) on 11 March, and that have remained under FIS’ custody since then, will be submitted to another round of technical inspections. Further investigative measures remain reserved.

The FIS Independent Ethics and Compliance Office is responsible for conducting an independent and confidential investigation, upon the completion of which any charges of a breach of the FIS Rules on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions will be heard and adjudicated by the FIS Ethics Committee.
