Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World to take place in June 2025

17 February 2025 – The “Olympism365 Summit: Sport for a Better World”, organised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), will take place from 3 to 5 June in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The Summit will be a unique opportunity to showcase and celebrate the collective impact of over 550 sport and community initiatives supported by the IOC and delivered by global and local partners. These initiatives directly contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and highlight the IOC’s leadership in safe sport.

Some 250 participants from over 100 organisations are expected to attend this invitation-only event in person, with further opportunities for virtual participation and public livestreaming.

Through a mix of plenary and breakout sessions, representatives from the Olympic Movement, United Nations agencies, development and financing institutions, civil society, for-purpose business and IOC Young Leaders advancing Olympism365 and safe sport priorities will share learning and good practices, and plan future action.

Key outcomes of the Summit will include enhanced collaboration and co-investment across the diverse stakeholders working with the IOC to advance sustainable development through sport. The Summit will also focus on strengthened cross-sector collaboration for the IOC Safe Sport Regional Hub Initiative, and the launch of key safe sport tools that support Olympic Movement stakeholders.

Olympism365: the IOC’s strategy to promote sustainable development

Olympism365 is the IOC’s strategy to strengthen the role of sport as an important enabler for the SDGs. Supporting 550 initiatives in 176 countries, the strategy is reaching tens of millions of people, to improve health, well-being, education, livelihoods and equality through sport.

Working with organisations from both within and outside the Olympic Movement, the strategy is delivered through thematic portfolios of sport-for-social-development projects; direct investment in National Olympic Committees (NOCs) funded through Olympic Solidarity’s Olympic Values Programme; and the IOC’s signature sport and Olympism in society initiatives, including Let’s Move and the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP). The Olympic Refuge Foundation (ORF) also contributes to the IOC’s mission of building a better world through sport, by ensuring that young people affected by displacement thrive through safe sport.
