NEXEN TIRE Receives EcoVadis Gold Rating for Second Consecutive Year

  • Ranked among the top 3% globally for strengthened ESG management, with notable recognition in environmental and human rights practices

SEOUL, South Korea, Jul 14, 2025 – NEXEN TIRE, a leading global tire manufacturer, announced today that it has been awarded a Gold rating by EcoVadis, a globally recognized assessment platform, for the second year in a row. This distinction places that company among the top 3% of more than 150,000 companies evaluated worldwide.

Founded in France in 2007, EcoVadis assesses corporate sustainability performance across four key pillars: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement. Its ratings – Platinum (top 1%), Gold (top 5%), Silver (top 15%), and Bronze (top 35%) – are widely used benchmarks of ESG excellence.

NEXEN TIRE achieved strong, balanced improvements across all assessment areas, reflecting the company’s ongoing investment in ESG systems and practices.

In the Environment category, the company earned positive recognition for participating in global sustainability initiatives such as the Global Platform for Sustainable Natural Rubber (GPSNR), the UN Global Compact (UNGC), and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Notably, climate education programs and transparent disclosure of greenhouse gas emissions across all scopes were highlighted as key contributors.

In the Labor & Human Rights category, NEXEN TIRE was commended for aligning its human rights policy with international standards, including those set by the United Nations and the International Labour Organization (ILO). The company also introduced human rights assessments to bolster its risk management framework.
