Kia announces October 2024 global sales results

  • October 2024 global sales of 264,854 units, up 2.8% Y/y
  • Outside of Korea, Kia sold 217,901 units, up 1.8% Y/y
  • In Korea, Kia sold 46,025 units, up 7.1% Y/y
  • Kia Sportage SUV led the company’s sales, selling 48,965 units, backed up by the Seltos and Sorento SUVs

Kia Corporation today announced global sales for October 2024 of 264,854 units (excluding special purpose vehicles), up 2.8 per cent year over year, led by strong market demand for the company’s SUV models.

The Sportage SUV drove Kia’s October sales, recording 48,965 units globally. The Seltos and Sorento SUVs backed up this continued market performance, with the Seltos SUV recording global sales of 25,608 units. The Sorento SUV sold 23,101 units globally.

Sales outside of Korea

Outside of Korea, Kia recorded sales of 217,901 units, up 1.8 percent compared with the same period in 2023.

The Sportage SUV led the brand’s performance in markets outside of Korea, with 43,434 sales. It was followed by the K3 (including its successor in some markets, the K4 compact sedan), which sold 19,493 units, and the Seltos SUV, with sales of 18,786 units.

Korea sales

In the Korean market, Kia sold 46,025 units, a 7.1 percent increase compared with the same period last year.

The Sorento SUV led the company’s passenger vehicle sales in its home market, with 7,962 units. This was followed by the Seltos SUV, which sold 6,822 units, and the Carnival MPV, with 5,645 sales.

In the fourth quarter of this year Kia will launch its new Sportage SUV as well as commencing European sales of its all-electric EV3. The company will continue to build on its sales momentum in the first half of next year with the launch of new models, including EV4 and the Tasman pickup.
