  • Staff members in the Trajectory Program joined the series in a range of roles to gain experience in endurance racing ahead of the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship
  • The success of the team in the European Le Mans Series proved the value of Genesis Magma Racing’s “disruptive” decision-making to look outside of endurance racing when building its lineup

Frankfurt, Germany, 28 October 2025:  A third place at the 4 Hours of Portimão ended a highly successful first season of racing for the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program. The result for drivers Jamie Chadwick, Mathys Jaubert and Dani Juncadella secured third in the LMP2 championship, capping a year which has exceeded expectations.

Trajectory Program Success Proves Wisdom of Disruptive Decisions

The Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program was created with the aim of readying the team to enter the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2026. Alongside the trio of drivers, up to 17 Genesis Magma Racing team members have joined the IDEC Sport-run team in the European Le Mans Series, rising to 30 for the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

Among that number were engineers, including Race Engineers and Strategists, who will work together on the WEC pitwall in 2026. The ELMS season gave them an opportunity to work together, gaining the experience needed to succeed in endurance racing. Mechanics, many of whom joined the Trajectory Program from Hyundai Motorsport’s FIA World Rally Championship team, joined the pit crew for the ELMS season, while support staff were able to experience the unique requirements and atmosphere of endurance racing.

On track, the Trajectory Program gained immediate results with a class victory at the ELMS season opener in Barcelona and an overall success at Le Castellet. Though never the explicit aim, or expectation, the wins were evidence of the program’s true goals being achieved.

“Since the beginning of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program, we targeted top five results, and challenging for podiums,” said Genesis Magma Racing Sporting Director Gabriele Tarquini. “We have far exceeded that with three race wins from six races and some other great individual and team performances.”

The results justified the brave decision made by Genesis Magma Racing to look outside of Prototype and endurance racing when building its Trajectory Program. “To be as successful as we want,” said Genesis Magma Racing Team Principal Cyril Abiteboul, “we need to be disruptive in our decisions. That is exactly how we went into selecting our Trajectory drivers. Their success has shown that this approach can deliver results and surprise the established teams and drivers.”

The promotion of Jaubert and Juncadella to Genesis Magma Racing’s driver lineup for the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) underlined the success of the first year of the Trajectory Program when they were announced as part of team in September.

“A key point of the Trajectory Program for our drivers was to assess them and see whether they were at the level to step up to WEC,” explained Tarquini. “We immediately saw the potential from the first tests. The results on track and, more importantly, the progress they made every round was great to see and made it an easy decision to welcome Mathys and Dani to our WEC team for 2026.”

They will be joined in the WEC paddock by many of the Genesis Magma Racing staff members who joined them on the Trajectory Program with the team spirit built during 2025 set to be the foundation of the 2026 squad.

Jamie Chadwick will remain part of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Program for 2026. She has shown significant improvement over the course of her first full season in Prototype racing, especially in her management and awareness of tires and fuel across her stint, and her racecraft around the traffic caused by lapping lower-class cars.

Chadwick will make the next step on her own trajectory, taking on some of the development work for the GMR-001 Hypercar, including participating in tests this year and throughout the 2026 season. She will also continue to compete in the LMP2 class of the European Le Mans Series. Full details of her racing program for 2026 will be announced at a later date.
