ACKO’s Grand Traffic Challan Report: Delhi Leads E Challan Fines

NEW DELHI, Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — ACKO’s Grand Traffic Challan Report gives a clear picture of how Indian motorists are engaging with e challans across major cities. The headline insight is simple: Delhi recorded the heftiest fines observed on the platform, prompting the report’s own line, ‘Delhi pulls the baap of all fines’. Beyond the headline, the data shows rising vigilance among drivers, frequent challan checks in metro cities, and a noticeable number of users carrying more than 10 pending challans.

Delhi’s Big Fines

The report highlights a few striking, high–value instances found in the dataset. These are individual figures and not citywide totals. But they show the severity of penalties when multiple offences take place.

  • ₹ 61,000 from just 5 challans (Delhi)
  • ₹ 60,500 from 4 challans
  • ₹ 31,000 in penalties from 2 offences (Noida)

Together, these numbers underline why the Delhi traffic challan conversation continues to draw attention and why regular checking matters.

Challan Checks

Chennai tops the scoreboard for average monthly challan checks per user. Drivers in this city check more often than in any other city, suggesting strong awareness and routine monitoring. Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad follow closely, showing that regular challan reviews are now becoming a common practice across metro and tier-1 cities. In fact, even in southern states, many motorists frequently log in to review their e challan Telangana, underlining how digital platforms have simplified monitoring for everyday drivers.

  • Chennai: 5.02 times/month
  • Bengaluru: 4.12 times/month
  • Kolkata: 3.39 times/month
  • Ahmedabad: 2.85 times/month
  • Delhi: 2.76 times/month
  • Mumbai: 2.44 times/month

Pending Challans

Some of the users still continue to carry more than 10 pending challans. When someone does city lookups like ‘Delhi traffic challan’, they will observe that the capital ranks third. While this is a minority, the percentage is considerable in a few large cities.

  • Bengaluru – 10.8%
  • Chennai – 8.06%
  • Delhi – 5.73%
  • Mumbai – 4.87%
  • Pune – 3.23%

What does it Mean?

The report gives three conclusions.

  1. The punishment is severe: As offences accumulate, so does the punishments escalate very fast, just as has been in Delhi and nearby Noida.
  2. There is an increase in awareness. The frequent e challan checks are an indication that drivers are keeping up and paying the dues on time.
  3. A rather high proportion of users have outstanding challans, in particular, Bengaluru and Chennai.

This means there can be improvements in terms of reminders, education regarding rules and better payment behaviour. The AP e challan report also reflects how drivers are using digital tools to track and pay dues across states.

Important Note

Helmet non-compliance is the rule that is broken the most. E challan UP stats suggest the same. The total number of offences exceeds a staggering 10.5 million. This is a data–led picture based on observed challan checks and user behaviour on ACKO’s platform. Figures show patterns among users engaging with e–challan tools and do not represent government totals. Lists from respective cities are provided to indicate relative trends, not to rank compliance quality beyond the metrics shown.
